Interested in camping? No? Watch Yuru Camp instead! - a review

I wasn't interested in camping, and still not, but this anime was a cute.

I'm not an outdoorsy person, as evident on the contents of this blog. Would I go camping in friends or family asked? Yes. Would I willingly bring up camping as an activity to do? No.

But this anime does bring the thought that "Maybe I should go out of my comfort zone and travel more". This anime is about a group of friends just camping and learning from their experiences. It reminded me of Restaurant to Another World, in which there were explanations about camping terms and techniques. I actually learned some interesting facts (like how to quickly start a fire or the different type of sleeping bags!). There's also great comedy and happy friendships in this. If you like an anime that's just a fun loving, funny slice of life, you would love this anime. Season 1, I thought, focused more on 2 of the main characters. Season 2 focused on the whole group, which was nice.

A little bit about the anime: Highschooler Shima Rin, a camper with some experiences, befriends new transfer student Kagamihara Nadeshiko. Nadeshiko joins the Outdoor Activity Club that has members Inuyama Aoi and Oogaki Chiaki. They're joined by friend and classmate Saitou Ena. The first season more focuses on Rin and Nadeshiko as they become closer friends and Nadeshiko learns more about camping. Season 2 focuses on the whole gang as the camp and learn various things.

My rating: 7.5 - Above Average; with Season 2 being better than Season 1
